Enter the Upper Room...

Welcome to the Marianist Lay Formation Initiative Web site!

The Marianist Lay Formation Initiative is a one year program funded by the Marianist Family Council. It is designed to assist individuals in developing an increased understanding of Marianist mission, tradition, and history.

The Marianist Family Council consists of members of all three branches of the Marianist Family:

Laity

Daughters of Mary Immaculate (Marianist sisters)

Society of Mary (brothers & priests)

The roots of Marianist lay communities trace back to the “upper room”, where the first Christian community gathered after Jesus' Ascension (acts 1:13). Fr. Chaminade’s mission to rechristianize France began with small communities of faith patterned after these first disciples.

The Marianist Family Council invites you to enter the upper room experience through the Marianist Lay Formation Initiative (MLFI). This one-year program supports laity who are passionate about the Marianist charism and desire to spread the Marianist spirit in their area.
